N2 - Abstract. - Poultry meat consumption and production have been developing sharply in the United States since world war II. The results have been a more and more important consolidation of the production lines framing the breeding activities, and of the breeding activities themselves, and a strong increase of poultry meat production in numerous areas of the former cotton belt.
N2 - Résumé. - La consommation et la production de viande de volaille se sont fortement développées aux Etats-Unis depuis la seconde guerre mondiale. Il en est résulté une concentration de plus en plus poussée des activités d'élevage, accompagnée d'un renforcement des phénomènes d'intégration et d'un essor important de la production dans de nombreux secteurs de l'ancien cotton belt.
