  • Description: In order to enhance the stability and methane production efficiency in anaerobic digestion(AD) of chicken manure(CM), this study investigated the effect of biochar loaded with magnetic nanoparticles on the AD. Fe3O4 nanoparticles could be successfully loaded onto biochar with high crystallinity and uniform distribution. The results showed the structure of nano-magnetic biochar is conducive to relieve ammonia inhibition, immobilize and enrich microorganisms, transmit electrons and achieve recovery of itself. The highest methane production was obtained when the dosage of nano-magnetic biochar was 15%, with an enhancement of 62.61%. Microbial community analysis showed that the addition of biochar increased the abundance of Firmicutes to 54.44%, which increased the rate of hydrolysis. Furthermore, the loading of Fe3O4 nanoparticles enhanced the abundance of Methanosarcina up to 79.29% and strengthened the methanation process, which probably relied on the direct electron transfer(DIET).This study indicated Chloroflexi and Methanosarcina can be potential DIET partners for synergistic metabolism
