  • Description: As a kind of tourism activity mode integrating sports and modern leisure tourism, the competitiveness level of sports tourism has become one of the important indexes to measure the strength of its market competitiveness and the development level of local tourism industry. This paper uses entropy weight-TOPSIS model to construct the index system of sports tourism competitiveness of urban agglomerations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and evaluates the competitiveness of sports tourism of 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The results show that the development of sports tourism in the cities of the Greater Bay Area is unbalanced and obviously different. Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong are competitive in sports tourism, Macao is average competitive in sports tourism and Dongguan, Jiangmen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Huizhou and Zhaoqing are less competitive in sports tourism. The 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area are divided into strong, average and weak areas according to the sports tourism competitiveness score. Finally, in view of the overall situation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the specific conditions of various cities, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from the perspectives of sports tourism resources development, sports tourism service level, government functional departments, event brand building, enterprise integration and other aspects
