  • Description: Fossil remains of archosaurs, the dominant clade of non-marine tetrapods during the Mesozoic, are known from the Berriasian to Lower Valanginian Bückeberg Formation (the "German Wealden") of northwestern Germany since the first half of the 19th century. Since the 1880s the formation became renown for the abundant occurrence of fossil vertebrate tracks, most of which have been left by dinosaurs.
