<jats:p>The problem of equilibrium states and∕or ground states of exactly solvable homogeneous boson models is stated and explicitly proved as a special case of the general variational problem of statistical mechanics in terms of quasifree states. We apply the result to a model of super-radiant Bose–Einstein condensation and to the pairing boson model.</jats:p>
