  • Description: AbstractFor the first time results are given of a comparative study of the 5D2 manifold Stark components of Eu3+ in a LaF3 monocrystal by the polarization diagram method under one‐ and two‐photon luminescence excitation. As a whole, the experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical approach under consideration and comply with the case of C2v → C2 symmetry distortion. Stark components are identified by one‐ and two‐photon polarization diagrams. It is shown that two‐photon diagrams are much more informative in this respect.
