For this project, entitled Un ami simple (A simple friend), Carron focused on the image of the mule - an emblematic figure of effort, endurance and phlegm. Nowadays this animal has above all a folkloristic connotation, while up to the1940s, Valais had a herd of more than 2000 animals which transported loads from valley to valley."
