Zusammenfassung:
<jats:p>Reaction of HAuCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O with the multifunctional ligand 3‐(1<jats:italic>H</jats:italic>‐1,2,4‐triazol‐1‐yl)propanamide (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>, TPA) afforded the polymorphic gold(III) complex AuCl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>(TPA) (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>) in 75 % yield. Thermal decomposition of the latter revealed the hydrochloride [HTPA]Cl (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>). Complex <jats:bold>2</jats:bold> forms a stable monoclinic and a metastable triclinic modification. The crystal structures of both modifications feature infinite supramolecular assemblies formed by secondary Au<jats:bold>···</jats:bold>Cl bonding interactions and hydrogen bonding.</jats:p>
