<jats:p>The following statistics were obtained from women who appeared at the University College Hospital (in 1870) to be attended in their confinement.</jats:p>
<jats:p>In 2,696 cases menstruation occurred for the first time-</jats:p>
<jats:p>From these cases it would appear most common at 14 years of age, then 15, 16, 13, 17, 12, 18, 19, 20, 10.</jats:p>
<jats:p>The mean age in these cases is 14.96 years nearly.</jats:p>
