  • Beschreibung: Both government surveillance and the excess production and circulation of images beyond government control produce traumatic effects that artists mobilise against the logic of militarisation. Focusing on three post 9/11 sound, video and vehicle projects by Krzysztof Wodiczko, this essay examines how war and media technologies are utilised to reveal the less obvious social and psychological damages of the 'war on terror', particularly aspects of the political repression unleashed against immigrants in American society and the psychic injuries of soldiers who function as both perpetrators and cannon fodder in this imperialist adventure.
