  • Description: In this programme two NQTs experiment with different techniques for developing their own unique teaching style. While this can be time-consuming, Finlay Curry and Victoria Oldroyd are keen to get started. Finlay tries to harness his geography pupils imaginations to make a lesson about hurricanes more vivid. The results are on the whole encouraging, and Finlay learns a valuable lesson about planning. ICT teacher Victoria introduces a robotic dog and an informal classroom setup to help teach her class about sensors. She finds the experience invigorating, benefiting from the support and advice of her NQT mentor.Leeds University's Angi Melderez, an NQT academic who has studied a wide variety of teaching styles, passes on useful advice for all teachers interested in trying out new techniques
