  • Description: Neumeister, Franck, and Ziegler produced song-like and madrigalesque aria forms; Hunold, Henrici, and others produced five- and six-line forms deriving from Italian opera. The recitatives are not structured according to Ziegler's rules, but follow the structure of opera recitatives instead. The development of the verse rhythm in Franck's series (Jahrgang) for 1715 supports A. Dürr's assertion that Bach produced BWV 152 as the first cantata of the series. In 20 of the 64 text parodies by Henrici, there is no evidence of which version came first in the parody pair. In the case of the parody pair Herkuleskantata-Weihnachtsoratorium, it can be shown that Henrici wrote several sacred arias before the secular; in the parody pair Matthäuspassion-Trauermusik, evidence in the text gives priority to the Matthäuspassion. Rhythmic-stylistic features point to Franck's authorship for BWV 63, 202, 194, 173.
