With the results of his research on innovation and adoption behavior, sustainability orientation as well as the identification of different types of actors in pig and poultry production on the one hand and algae and insect production on the other hand Arne Bünger contributes to a better understanding of socio-technical transitions. Furthermore, the underrepresented focus on spatial and actor relationships in transformation research is adressed. This and an analysis of innovation potential and sustainability orientation in a tri-national comparison contribute to closing current research gaps.
