  • Description: Increasing corporate accountability and regulatory pressure push internal auditors to develop new ways to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in their work. Once-a-year reviews are often insufficient. Consequently, continuous auditing is necessary to meet the needs of a firm's stakeholders. Continuous auditing is any of the methods used by auditors to perform an audit on a continuous basis. Continuous auditing tests transactions based on prescribed criteria, identifies anomalies, and is the responsibility of the auditor. This article addresses the potential impact of the current environment on continuous auditing and its stakeholders
