Description: The paper provides an explanation of the capital level and the regulatory capital level of Islamic banks compared to conventional banks based on corporate and regulatory approaches. Using a panel data of more than 400 Conventional and Islamic banks for the period from 2005 to 2014, we conclude that the respect of the Islamic ethical principles and the involvement of an ethical committee in the governance of Islamic banks change their capital structure compared to conventional banks
