  • Description: Production requires organized utilization of all natural resources. Before starting any work it is necessary to plan the things properly for getting best result. Similarly, the check on production planning is also necessary. The assessment of effectiveness of the production planning and control is an important feedback mechanism in order to know the exact performance of the plant and actual productivity. Every production engineer knows that repetitive production cycles result in products that are not identical in their characteristics. The reason for this is simply that the production cycles are not really identical in every respect. In the light of present scenario this paper highlights the importance of periodic check of production plans in order to know the magnitude and direction of outputs of production planning. From an operational management perspective, this analysis gives a clear picture and logical impact with justification for the implementing proper production planning, in improving the productivity and quality of an organization as a whole
