  • Description: The subject of bank planning has received considerable attention in recent years. However, little relative attention has been devoted to strategic planning for new banks. This study reduces this void by providing some guidelines and thoughts pertaining to development of strategic plans for newly formed banks.This focus on strategic planning is appropriate for two reasons. First, strategic planning involves the most important and basic objectives and policies faced by the organizers, directors, and management of new banks. This is especially relevant for new banks whose organizers and directors lack previous banking experience. Second, strategic planning should take place before shorter range, more operations-oriented plans are formulated
