  • Description: During the last few years the Polish job and labor market has been improving significantly. Both, the number of unemployed and the unemployment rate have dropped, and employment has increased in Poland. Despite these positive trends, unemployment is still one of the most crucial social challenge to be overcome by politicians. The experts concerned with research in unemployment have set up two different models of economic growth. The models used for research are conventionally called as the "American Model" and the “European Model" or also "West-European Model". According to the theoretical structure of the “American Model" economic growth generates new jobs, which results in an increase of employment and the employment rate. Instead, according to the theoretical structure of the “European Model", economic growth is not followed by a significant growth in the number of jobs and an increase of the employment rate
