This is the first major monograph on Brooklyn-based painter and sculptor Elliott Puckette (born 1967), long acclaimed for her abstract paintings of elegant lines wandering freely through sparse, monochromatic space. ?I was always interested in graphology,? she told a recent interviewer, ?not necessarily what someone was writing but reading into the psychology of how it?s written.? In recent years, the artist has also experimented with sculpture, lifting her tangling lines off the canvas and suspending them in the air.
