In exploring the role of research on health and development, this paper is going to look at a project that sustains and scales up school water sanitation and hygiene, plus community impact (SWASH ) and its role on health and development in one of its intervention schools; Thurbie primary school in Nyando. SWASH is an “umbrella” project that partners organizations with same interest of enriched outcome for positive change that is beneficial to each one of them right from the point of problem identification to evaluation. This way, it is more effective in reducing diarrhoeal diseases and building up the community, economically and health wise
