  • Description: This study explores the relationship between corporate governance mechanisms and firm value for companies listed on a new frontier market, the Palestine Stock Exchange before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. We study the effects of corporate governance mechanisms and firm value of two years before the start of the pandemic (2018-and 2019-) and two years subsequent to the onset of the pandemic (2020 and 2021). Two corporate governance mechanisms stand out in terms of enhancing valuation since the onset of the pandemic: a) enhance female representation on the board; b) the presence of an audit committee on the board
