  • Description: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a prevalent global issue, affecting one in three women and posing a significant public health concern. This study examines the impact of increased secondary education on IPV prevalence and women’s empowerment in Tanzania, following the implementation of the Secondary Education Development Plan (SEDP). The findings demonstrate that the SEDP led to heightened education levels and a significant reduction in IPV, particularly physical violence, while also enhancing women’s financial independence. Although no significant effects on other dimensions of IPV or empowerment were observed, existing literature suggests that physical IPV may be more visible and thus more readily addressed. These results highlight the crucial role of education in reducing IPV and promoting women’s financial independence. However, further research is necessary to explore additional dimensions of IPV and develop comprehensive prevention strategies
