  • Description: This study aims to investigate the sociodemographic determinants of school attendance in Mauritania. The study utilizes the national household survey 2019 and a logistic regression econometric model is used to analyze the association between sociodemographic variables and the dependent variable outcome: school attendance. The study findings reveal that sociodemographic determinants significantly influence school attendance in Mauritania. The research highlights that males have higher odds of attendance than females, while an increase in age decreases the odds of attendance. Additionally, having a phone and ID is associated with higher odds of attendance. Living in rural areas decreases the chances of school attendance, and being of foreign nationalities had varying effects on attendance. The study provides valuable insights into the challenges of ensuring education access for all in Mauritania and recommends further research and policy interventions to address these challenges
