  • Description: Chinese economy has changed from rapid development to high-quality development stage. As an important area of Chinese economic belt and ecological governance, the high-quality development of cities in the Yellow River Basin has become one of the hotspots of research. Based on the systematic perspective, a comprehensive evaluation system including 29 indicators of ecology, production and life is constructed in this paper. The entropy weight TOPSIS method is used to construct a measurement model to evaluate the high-quality development level and coupled coordinated development of 61 cities in the Yellow River basin, and explore their spatio-temporal evolution characteristics. The results show that from 2011 to 2020, the high-quality level and coupled coordinated development of cities in the Yellow River basin indicated an obvious upward trend, but the overall level was not high, with sustainable growth cities accounting for 72%. There is a significant spatial difference in the level of high-quality development in the Yellow River basin, with a high level of development in the upper reaches, a steady improvement in the downstream cities, and a lower level of development in the middle reaches. Therefore, the development of different regions should adjust measures to local conditions, give full play to their advantages, make up for their shortcomings, and make full use of the development of the Internet to promote the overall development of the city
