  • Description: What are the effects of banning price discrimination in input markets? This paper considers the potential exclusionary effects of such policies, i.e., whether a restriction to uniform pricing leads a supplier to foreclose some downstream firms. In particular, I study how the conditions for exclusion depend on what type of contract the supplier offers. I show that downstream exclusion is more likely with two-part tariffs than with linear contracts. This result is robust across different modes of competition and sources of asymmetry. My findings reinforce a key policy message from the existing literature
