  • Description: The aim of this paper is to consider the structure of white-collar creative labor in the era of generative AI. It argues that, perhaps faster than blue-collar redundancies, it is the white-collar creative world that is far more at risk of disruption and redundancy, caused in large part by the breakneck improvements in generative AI that facilitate value creation at a fraction of the cost and time. The paper therefore argues that the premise of capitalism in exchanging labor for capital risks becoming increasingly redundant for an educated upper class of society, and thus threatens the system itself. It thus makes an appeal for greater restructuring of economic systems to cater for the redundancies created by AI that will not be addressed by retooling, reeducating, or reskilling the creative class
