  • Description: Climate change brings both risks and opportunities to businesses and the economy. To effectively identify these risks and opportunities, climate-related disclosure is increasingly being used to provide accurate climate-related information on business entities' activities and plans. In response to the rising demand and acknowledging the important role of this instrument, several countries have enacted or are in the process of enacting mandatory climate-related disclosure requirements. This paper aims to explore Indonesia's regulatory framework and its potential for enacting mandatory climate-related disclosure. The paper explains the risks and benefits associated with climate change as the background imperative for disclosure, analyzes the prevailing relevant regulations in Indonesia to evaluate the potential of climate-related disclosure in the future, and presents suggestions for an improved disclosure regime in Indonesia by emphasizing climate aspects and expanding the obligatory reporting entities
