ResumenEl trabajo trata el problema de la desigualdad en Chile en la actualidad, las movilizaciones del movimiento estudiantil y de la ciudadanía en general,que exigen cambios estructurales en la educacióny otros ámbitos importantes de la sociedad tales como la salud, la seguridad social, etc. y reclaman participación, a la vez que manifiestan falta de credibilidad en el sistema político y sus agentes. La sociedad chilena, después de muchos años, está atravesando por un proceso de repolitización que afecta al sistema político de manera importante. Y el sistema político no ha mostrado hasta ahora capacidad de dar respuesta a esas demandas, puesto que atraviesa por una crisis de credibilidad y legitimidad de importancia.Chile: Inequality, Citizenship and Political ParticipationAbstractThis paper is about the current issue of inequality in Chile, the demonstrations of the student movement, and the general public demanding structural changes in education and in other areas such ashealth, and social security, among others. These sectors have been claiming for participation, while protesting against the lack of credibility in the political system and its agents. The Chilean society is, after many years, going through a process of re-politization that affects the political system significantly. And the political system has not shown so far the ability to respond to these demands, since it is experiencing a crisis of credibility and legitimacy.
