Description:
The working title Anima Mundi usually translates as world soul, Plato wrote "Therefore, we may consequently state that: this world is indeed a living being endowed with a soul and intelligence... a single visible living entity containing all other living entities, which by their nature are all related." (Plato 'Timaeus').0How do these words resonate today, when we as a species, are at a crossroads with a world view being shattered? As experience (reinforced by science) re-Mind me, language and communication are not exclusive to our species. How the current environmental emergency makes it clear that we are our environment. There is no there there!0The requiem part of the title, became a reference point since the work is very much driven by sound. I was hesitant to keep vanishing, since it felt too defined, too dark, until I realized the more hopeful reading vanishing of ignorance (as well as our own vanishing, and other non-human species vanishing).00Exhibition: Benhuset, Stockholm, Sweden (17.03.-25.03.2022)
