Medically assisted suicide is a topic in Germany that is currently discussed in a controversial manner. In fact, it especially is a challenge for the medical profession. Since many aspects of physician-assisted suicides are still absolutely ambiguous, this doctoral thesis will start out with an outline of various forms of assisted suicides. A synopsis of the discourse as well as a set of diverse exemplary reactions will establish the doctor's ethos as the key aspect of the debate.
