  • Description: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma in children and shows characteristics of skeletal muscle differentiation. RMS occur in two main histological subtypes in children: alveolar RMS (ARMS) and embryonal RMS (ERMS), which are associated with distinct genetic and molecular alterations. Despite more intensive therapies during the last decades, patients with metastatic RMS have a very poor prognosis.
