Unia Izb Łaby i Odry (KEO) jest transgranicznym zrzeszeniem należących do niej izb, działającym na rzecz wzmocnienia potencjału gospodarczego regionów objętych ich działaniem. W unii tej współpracuje ze sobą 17 niemieckich, 7 polskich i 10 czeskich izb przemysłowo-handlowych oraz izb rzemieślniczych. Celem inicjatywy jest wspólne reprezentowanie interesów firm z tego regionu na szczeblu krajowym i europejskim. Chodzi przy tym zwłaszcza o dalszy rozwój infrastruktury transportowej w obszarze KEO. Dzięki znacznej poprawie stanu sieci dróg i połączeń kolejowych, a także dróg wodnych, koszty transportu i transakcji mają zostać zmniejszone, co będzie bodźcem dla rozwoju gospodarczego i dla tworzenia transgranicznej sieci współpracy w regionie. ; The Chamber Union Elbe/Oder (KEO) is a transnational federation including several chambers of commerce and associations with the aim to strengthen the economic performance of participating regions. 17 German, 7 Polish and 10 Czech chambers of industry and commerce as well as chambers of crafts are cooperating within this union. The initiative's goal is to represent the common interests of companies on the national and European level. The development of transport infrastructure in the KEO-region is thereby in the focus. Transportation and transaction costs shall be reduced by means of a far reaching improvement of the waterways and the road- and rail network to expedite the economic progress and the transboundary networking of the region.
