Mr. Beck submitted the following resolution: Resolved, that the President of the United States be, and he hereby is, requested to cause inquiry to be made, and to inform the Senate, whether or not any consular officer or commercial agent of the United States is now, or has been, since 1868, personally interested in, or benefited by, the fees paid to the notarial, consular, or commercial officials of any other nation
