  • Description:
We report on the ability to measure simultaneous temperature and pressure from a 2 Fr sensor (0.6 mm) located inside an artery of a rat. Over the temperature range from 25 to 45 degrees centigrade, the accuracy is better than 0.2 degrees. The pressure waveform is high fidelity with a 2 kHz sample rate. Performance data has been evaluated over a 30 day period and has illustrated very low drift and high precision. The sensor and accompanying telemeter are fully implanted. The telemeter is inductively powered and able to operate for the lifetime of the animal. The small size of the temperature sensor enables placement and the recording of temperature in select regions of the body.
