  • Description:
The objective of this study was to develop laboratory modules that incorporated Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) to enhance minority students' learning of important concepts in the biochemistry laboratory. The biochemistry laboratory was divided into two groups that met on different days. The exact same laboratory techniques were taught in both labs. The control group had the regular laboratory instruction and the test group recieved POGIL modules. The POGIL group scored significantly higher on the mid‐semester assessment exam than the control group.
Grant Funding Source: Supported by National Science Foundation DUE Award #0941955
