  • Description:
Abstract
A theoretical relationship has been developed between the particle size of polyolefin powders and that of the Ziegler‐Natta catalyst from which they are derived. This has been extended to examine how the yield on catalyst and the residence time distribution in a continuous stirred tank reactor affect the particle size distribution. Experimental confirmation of these relationships has been obtained using TiCl3 catalyst of near‐spherical morphology prepared by low‐temperature reduction of titanium tetrachloride with triethyl aluminium in solution.
