  • Description:
Abstract
According to the World Bank statistics, 57% of the total yearly losses of Romania are caused by flooding and landslides. At the same time, 37.4% of the country surface and 45.8% of the population is subjected to risk, while approximately 50.3% of the yearly national income can be affected by material losses and human lives as result of natural disasters (earthquakes, flooding and landslides). The paper presents the drawing up stages of the landsliding hazard map and the quantification of the hazard medium coefficient (K(m)) for a particular zone, respectively in Iasi city – Bucium area. Through a comparative analysis between the values of the stability factor (Fs), using the Spencer method for the area taken into consideration, and the distribution of the hazard medium coefficient values for landsliding (K(m)), a good correspondence between the two indicators reflecting the slope stability has been identified.
