  • Description: AbstractProcessing metallic materials via selective laser melting (SLM) enables the production of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) with large size and complex shape, which is difficult or even impossible to achieve using traditional manufacturing techniques. In this study, the initiation and propagation of shear bands as well as the tensile strength in a 3D‐printed BMG with printing defects by means of inherent porosities are studied. A multi‐slips system model based on Mohr‐Coulomb theory is applied.
