<jats:p>The various aspects of the preparation of the Hipparcos Input Catalogue are presented here. The astrometric parts of the work are pointed out in more details, especially the new observations and measurements already undertaken. The astrometric proposals submitted for observation with Hipparcos are also presented, as they will allow the link between Hipparcos, Space Telescope and ground-based astrometric programs.</jats:p>
