  • Description:
Single copies of “Use of Fuzzy Logic to Encode Archival Climate Research Uncertainties” by L. Duckstein are available free of charge upon request. The publication was printed by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization/International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO/IHP) in 1998.
A methodology based mostly on fuzzy logic is provided for efficiently using proxy archival data that deal with hydroclimatology. For example, imprecise data on El Nino are combined with information on drought using fuzzy rules to reconstruct an extreme event time series in Mexico from 1720 to 1909.
