<p>Thermal fluctuations of the cross-links in a confined, incompressible elastomer film lead to significant departures from the predictions of the classical rubber elasticity theory and, in particular, to a pseudo-Casimir stress whose scaling with the film thickness depends on the types of interfacial boundary conditions.</p>
