  • Description: Summary: Accumulating evidence supports that loss of HLA expression contributes to relapse after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT), but the mechanisms behind this evasion strategy are unclear. The groups of Luca Vago and Raffaella Di Micco identified the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) as a key epigenetic driver of immune escape after allo-HCT by reducing the chromatin accessibility of HLA class II molecules, which could be targeted by pharmacologic inhibition of PRC2 subunits.
