Description:
<jats:p>The absolute configuration of the title compound, C<jats:sub>24</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>23</jats:sub>NO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, has been confirmed as 3<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>,4<jats:italic>R</jats:italic>. The hydroxymethyl group and phenyl ring at the asymmetric C atoms exhibit α and β orientations, respectively, and the non-planar heterocyclic ring of the tetrahydroisoquinoline system adopts an envelope conformation. The crystal structure is stabilized through hydrogen bonds.</jats:p>
