<jats:p>Workers have fought for over a century to create steady full‐time jobs. However, corporate restructuring in the last two decades has engendered the growth of unsteady work, which today is the fastest‐growing segment of the labor market. The author prescribes a new program to draw public attention to the inequities of contingent work and build a campaign to create steady jobs through popular and legislative action.</jats:p>
