  • Description: Fifteen survivors of intracranial hemorrhage were studied to determine the incidence of hypoglycorrhachia. All infants developed hypoglycorrhachia one to several days after the hemorrhage. It persisted for a variable period before returning to normal. Alteration of the glucose transport system by blood breakdown products is the likely mechanism. Hypoglycorrhachia may have useful diagnostic implications.
