  • Description: Abstract By DTA DSC a phase transition of Cl3CSO2Cl was observed, TII,I = 227.4 K, ΔHII,I = 7.10 kJ · Mol-1; ΔSII,I/R = 3.63; Tm = 418.5 K, ΔHm = 7.46 kJ · Mol-1, ΔSm/R = 2.14. By X-ray'powder diffraction, the orientationally disordered solid phase I (plastic phase) was found to be body centered cubic, Im3m, Z = 2, a = 721.7 (5) pm at room temperature. The 35CL NQR quartet fades out at the transition temperature TII,I = Tf, and the fade out temperature Tf is identical for the four 35Cl NQR lines. The NQR spectrum shows a hysteresis in TI,II - TII,I.
