<jats:p>N-Lithio-N,N′-di(t-butyl)-S-ferrocenylsulfinic acid imidoamide (1) has been synthesized from C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>FeC<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>Li and Bu′NSNBu′. Treatment of 1 with SnCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> results in the formation of C<jats:sub>18</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>27</jats:sub>Cl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>FeN<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>SSn (2), an orange solid containing a four-membered SN<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Sn ring. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2<jats:sub>1</jats:sub>/c with cell constants a = 1035.7(5), b = 1403.7(7), c = 1591.5(8) pm; β = 92.79(3)°.</jats:p>
