  • Description: After the initial few years that witnessed the birth and first steps of e-commerce applications, this paper presents the present state of e-commerce in Slovenia. The EU accession process has brought many changes and challenges for companies in candidate countries Slovenia being among them including the use of e-business technology. The vast majority of Slovenian companies have been increasingly recognizing the need to operate electronically. However, most companies are still at the beginning stage: e-business has not reached profoundly the operational processes. Nevertheless, some e-commerce businesses survived the tough initial years and proved to be successful.
