  • Description: <jats:p>Trafficking in human organs is a contemporary international problem that engages the attention of media more so than researchers and representatives of medical and legislative institutions. The purpose of this paper is to point out the main characteristics of this segment of organized crime, and to try to underline its seriousness and the necessity of more active prevention and suppression. This paper is divided into four thematic parts. After the introduction and terminological determination, the author gives a brief analysis of regional dimensions of trafficking in human organs. In continuation, a brief turn over of international medical and legal regulation, with concluding consideration in the final part of the paper is given.</jats:p>
