<jats:p>In march 1848, a "conseil de prud'hommes » (industrial tribunal) was under consideration for coal mines in Maine-et-Loire and Loire-Inférieure. This question, not common in its form, was studied by Authorities and got a negative answer in 1849. Examination of the motives of such refusal leads us to focus on some characteristics of industrial courts in the XIXth century.</jats:p>
